Aims of LDAS

The Learning Disability Alliance Scotland exists to support an alliance of organisations by working with adults with learning disabilities who use their services and facilitating their active engagement in the political process. We provide a politically neutral supporting role to help people with learning disabilities resolve matters of importance to them, their families, carers and service providers.

We aim to:

  • Make politics accessible for adults with learning disabilities from all over Scotland.
  • Support adults with learning disabilities to be involved in the political process in the Scottish and UK Parliaments and in local authority areas across Scotland.
  • Facilitate active engagement for people with learning disabilities, their families and carers on issues of importance to them.
  • Provide accessible political information and communications for adults with learning disabilities, their families, carers and service providers.
